In the area of Fortetsa, in Heraklion, Crete, ERGOKAT undertook the full renovation of a single-storey residence, from structural reinforcement to the finest detail of the interior spaces. The project began with the complete removal of the old roof and the construction of a new tiled roof with Roman-style tiles, thermal insulation using extruded polystyrene, and a bituminous membrane, while the masonry was structurally reinforced with a jacket based on an engineering study, ensuring the building’s durability for years to come.
Outdoors, a new balcony was built along with a new entrance staircase, and the yard was fully redesigned: installation of a polyester pool, exterior paving, fencing, and the layout of a parking area gave the home a modern, functional outdoor space. The façades were finished with new acrylic plaster and anti-crack protection against moisture, while energy-efficient aluminum frames with thermal break, electric roller shutters, and high energy-performance glazing were installed.
Special emphasis was placed on the electromechanical installations: a complete electrical installation compliant with ELOT 60364, with both low- and high-current networks, pre-installation for photovoltaics and electric vehicle charging, smart LED lighting, and an alarm system with cameras. For heating, cooling, and domestic hot water production, a high-efficiency heat pump was installed in combination with a solar water heater, ensuring low energy costs and year-round comfort.
Inside, the spaces were fully rebuilt: new walls and ceilings, high-quality tiles and marble, custom-made wardrobes, a complete renewal of sanitary ware, and the construction of a fireplace completed a residence that is thorough, modern, and tailored to the needs of a contemporary family.
This project reflects ERGOKAT’s philosophy: every renovation is approached as an opportunity to combine structural safety with aesthetic upgrading and energy efficiency, delivering a result built to last.
